Social and ethical values in marketing and entrepreneurship

On Monday 8 March 2021, journalist and author Michael Smith, gave an inspiring presentation on “Social and ethical values in Marketing and Entrepreneurship” to Aston University’s students within the context of their Ethical and Sustainable Marketing module. Through the stories of inspirational leaders such as Lawrence Bloom (Intercontinental Hotels), Suresh and Mala Vazirani (Transasia Biomedicals) and Rajendra and Harsh Gandhi (Gujurat Rubber Recycling), Michael highlighted the value of creative thinking to build successful businesses based on integrity and trust. “Students benefit greatly from listening to professionals such as Mike sharing their knowledge with them whilst offering different perspectives on business practices. Responsible and ethical business is core to the United Nation’s Principle for Responsible Management Education (PRME), an initiative to which Aston University is fully committed”, says Nathalie Ormrod, BSc Marketing Programme Director and PRME Aston University’s Director.
